VIDEO: President Obama Endorses Conan O'Brien

Who cares what the critics say? Conan O'Brien has the Presidential stamp of approval in his first week as the new host of The Tonight Show on NBC.

During a sit-down interview with NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, President Barack Obama had encouraging words for O'Brien as he takes over the 11:35 p.m. timeslot from Jay Leno.

"I think Conan will do an outstanding job. I think he's up to the task," Obama said in a clip played on The Tonight Show. "But I just want him to know there's not going to be any bailout coming from Washington if he screws up."

Leno's new primetime show, meanwhile, premieres Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
