Jennifer Aniston faced ex-husband Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie -- and the world -- at the Oscars Sunday for the first time since Pitt and Aniston's very public divorce in 2005. It was about as awkward as Us Weekly magazine could have hoped.
Here's a play-by-play of how it all went down:
--Aniston first appears at the far left of the stage, a safe distance from Brad and Angelina, who are sitting front and center. She's presenting with Jack Black -- who co-starred with Jolie in Kung Fu Panda. They are presenting an animation award -- and Kung Fu Panda is nominated. Aniston is visibly tense and flubs her line. Cut to Jolie, who laughs at Aniston's not-so-funny joke.
--Aniston and Black move to centerstage, where Aniston is about 5 feet away from her ex-husband and the woman he left her for. While Black speaks, Aniston's eyes scan the audience -- right where Brad and Angelina are sitting -- and she gives a tight smile.
--Aniston makes a joke and the camera pans to Brad and Angelina smiling and looking totally relaxed. And why shouldn't they be smiling? They're Brangelina. As Aniston walks off stage, Brad and Angelina clap.
--Later, Aniston is seated with boyfriend John Mayer in the second row behind Best Actor winner Sean Penn and wife Robin Wright Penn. They are about 12 seats from Brad and Angelina, per Us Weekly.
--When Brad and Angelina are announced as best acting nominees, Jen and John Mayer both clap.
--After the ceremony, Jennifer Aniston starts drinking heavily. (OK, we made up this last part.) She was seen smooching Mayer at the Vanity Fair party. We're guessing Brad and Angelina headed home to wipe spaghetti off the walls.
