Drama, drama, drama at the Country Music Awards last night! For starters, Nicole Kidman's hubby Keith Urban won male vocalist of the year, but he couldn't accept the award, because, you know, he's in rehab for alcoholism. Then, on the kick-'em-when-they're-down front, Sara Evans, who recently filed for divorce from her alleged porn-lovin' husband, came up empty-handed (although she gave a fabulous onstage performance).
But that's not the best part. Apparently Faith Hill isn't the biggest American Idol fan. When female vocalist of the year was awarded to Carrie Underwood instead of her, the camera caught Hill backstage, angrily yelling "WHAT?" before storming off. Hill claims it was just a joke, releasing the following statement: "The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me. For this to become a focus of attention given the talent gathered is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving Female Vocalist of The Year."
Was Faith Hill genuinely angry, or was this the worst idea for a joke since, well, the sketch premises on last night's episode of Studio 60? (Actually, to be fair, Jesus as the head of Standards and Practices is borderline funny. You eeked out a win on this one, Sorkin.) Check out the video and decide for yourself.
