If you were on the Internet at the tail end of 2014, Jeremy Meeks was all over your screen. After being arrested on weapons charges by the Stockton Police Department, his mugshot was posted on its Facebook page. Thus started Meeks's life as the "hot felon," with people all over the globe declaring their (at times excessive) thirst and lust at his appealing visage in the image.
After his mugshot went viral, the offers poured in for "Mugshot McDreamy," including modeling offers calls from agents wanting to represent him. But, there was still the not-so-little matter of his conviction to deal with.
So on November 6, Meeks pled guilty to one count of illegal firearm possession. He was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison -- decidedly unsexy info, if you ask us.
However, only a year later, he has been released from jail. In an Instagram post on March 9, Meeks stated his hopes for the future: "I want to thank my family and everybody for all your love, support and prayers. I'm overwhelmed and grateful for what lies ahead."
And according to his now-agent, Jim Jordan of White Cross Management (the man in the photo with him), the offers are still rolling in.
"We’re putting everything in place," Jordan told BuzzFeed. "We’re in talks with a lot of different agencies. There’s movies on the table. We have a lot of different things happening."
Whether or not Meeks stays out of trouble is up to him, but things seem to be looking up for the "hot felon," so let's all give him a chance, for now. ?
