Here's What We Need To See In Han Solo And Chewbacca's 'Star Wars' Origin Story

Dejarik and Jabba, obviously

Han Solo and Chewbacca's friendship has always been one of the greatest mysteries in the Star Wars canon since the release of A New Hope in 1977. How did they meet? And why, exactly, is their bond so indomitable? Now, fans will finally get an answer.

During the Deutsche Bank 2016 Media, Internet & Telecom Conference, Disney boss Bob Iger described Phil Lord and Chris Miller's upcoming Han Solo anthology film as an origin story for the scruffy-looking nerfherder and his right-hand Wookiee, Chewbacca. So not only will Chewie be featured prominently in the film, we'll likely get to see their meet-cute play out on the big screen.

The untitled Han Solo standalone will follow the young smuggler and Wookiee on adventures that take place before they meet Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Tattooine.

But what kind of adventures will Han and Chewie find themselves in, exactly? Will we see Han get married to Sana, who showed up in the Star Wars comic? Will we finally figure out how he made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs when parsecs are really a measure of distance? Will we see the exact moment Han lays eyes on the large, round, beat-up, pieced-together hunk of junk that will eventually become his beloved Millennium Falcon? Will we see Han desert the Imperial Academy? Will we see Chewie swear a life debt to the Corellian smuggler?

Regardless of where Han and Chewie's adventures take them, we'll definitely be along for Lord and Miller's crazy ride. That being said, we do have a few things we'd like to see in their origin story.

Han winning the Falcon from Lando.

Take us to the Cloud City Sabacc Tournament, please.

His record-breaking Kessel Run.

Regardless of whether we're measuring distance or time, we still want to see the smuggler in action behind the wheel of the Falcon.

Chewie losing a game of Dejarik.

Oh, man. Maybe we'll even get to see a younger, far more aggressive Chewie rip some poor guy's arms off. [WOOKIEE YELL]

Han Solo - Star Wars

Here's the thing: young Han was not a nice guy. He was a smuggler, a space pirate, and a selfish womanizer who quite honestly cared about nothing except getting paid. Han probably saved Chewbacca from life as an Imperial slave for entirely selfish reasons, and that's OK. While we'd love to see a two-hour love story between Han and Chewie, that's not realistic. Instead, we hope Han and Chewie get off to a rough start.

His fallout with Jabba The Hutt.

Jabba The Hut

We know Han did some jobs for Jabba until he was forced to abandon important cargo, thanks to a run-in with the Empire. As a result, Jabba terminated their working relationship and effectively went after Han's head.
