Just when you thought DJ Khaled’s motivational mastery had reached its peak, he goes and drops ANOTHER ONE. The veteran producer, radio host, and Snapchat king visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show for an episode airing Wednesday, during which he proclaimed himself “the hip-hop Quincy Jones.”
“But I’m a CEO too,” he added. “I’m an entrepreneur. I’m a young mogul. I’m blessed.”
Khaled went on to drop nuggets of wisdom about his major keys, including the importance of drinking water, eating egg whites, and training on the elliptical. He also dubbed Ellen a “great key leader” and gave a truly inspiring answer about who the “they” who don’t want you to succeed are.
“Please Ellen, stay away from them. Stay away from ‘they,’” Khaled warned her. “‘They’ is the person that told you you would never have The Ellen Show. ’They’ are the people that don’t believe in you, that say that you won’t succeed. So we stay away from ‘they.’ They never wanted me on The Ellen Show, and look at me, I’m on The Ellen Show! And this the number one show. Mama, I made it!”
After dropping more insight about turning no’s into yes’s, never surrendering, and being yourself, Khaled recruited Ellen for a Snapchat vid and proudly modeled a new chain she gave him that reads “Ellen the Best.” #BlessUp.
