Man Asks Future Stepchild If She’d Like To Be His ‘Daughter Forever’ In Adorable Proposal

I'm not crying, you're crying

Sometimes it’s the simplest moments of happiness that are the most enduring.

William Ledbetter proposed to Paige Evans, his girlfriend of two years, on their second anniversary with a ring and framed family photos. But he also wanted to make sure her daughter Maddie felt included — after all, they would be officially forming a new family.

So Ledbetter decided to “propose” to Maddie as well by getting down on one knee and asking Maddie, “You want to be my daughter forever, too?” The beautiful moment garnered almost 900,000 views after being uploaded to Ledbetter’s YouTube page late last year.

“After proposing to the love of my life I had to include my little princess. . .”

“I didn’t want Maddie to see the pictures and ring I got for Paige and feel left out,” Ledbetter told The Huffington Post. “So I actually got Maddie a ring as well, along with a necklace and earrings.”

Although they’re well into planning their nuptials now, the adorable story persists — it was reposted on Imgur yesterday, where it garnered more than 7 million views in 24 hours.

Once you see the charming way that Ledbetter includes his future stepdaughter in the moment — and how she reacts to it too — you’ll know exactly why.
