The Internet Went *Pretty Nuts* When Leonardo DiCaprio Won His Oscar

We were all rooting for you, Leo!

Leonardo DiCaprio's freezing, furry, bear-mauled turn in The Revenant FINALLY scored him that Oscar he'd been waiting for -- thank the gods!

Apologies must be made to actors Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender, and Eddie Redmayne, because if the internet was any indication, the whole world was rooting for Leo to win last night.

Since 1994, we've been waiting for DiCaprio to take the Oscars stage as a full-fledged winner. It's been a long and hard wait, you guys! That's why Leo's win became the most tweeted Academy Awards moment in history.

"Leonardo DiCaprio’s win for Best Actor generated more than 440,000 Tweets per minute, the most-Tweeted minute of an Oscars telecast ever, beating out the previous record of 255,000 Tweets per minute, set when [Ellen DeGeneres tweeted her] star-studded selfie," Twitter reported on their blog.

The way people across the globe reacted can be summarized quite nicely by Vine star and actor Logan Paul. His hilarious video posted directly after DiCaprio's win is chock full of Leo references, from Titanic to The Revenant. It's basically a visual representation of Twitter last night when Leo grabbed his newest friend Oscar.

Paul's video already has 40,000 retweets and more than 30,000 favorites on Twitter, not to mention more than 700,000 views on Imgur. We're sure Leo appreciates the joy he caused by winning something he's deserved for more than two decades.
