Drake Honors His Jewish Heritage By Crashing A Bat Mitzvah

One girl got a very special 'mazel tov.'

When he’s not co-starring in Rihanna videos or writing songs with Kanye West, Drake has been known to show up to the occasional coming of age ceremony.

On Saturday (February 20), he sang a few recent hits at a bat mitzvah in New York. Videos circulating on Twitter show the 29-year-old rapper performing for a group of tweens, including one girl who appears to be the center of the celebration in question.

Drake’s last bar mitzvah appearance was in 2011, when CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker hired him to play at his son’s ceremony for a reported $250,000. The price of a Drake cameo can only have gone up since then, but it did make one girl very happy this weekend.

The bat mitzvah setlist included the hit single “Hotline Bling,” of course, along with the more recent “Summer Sixteen” and Fetty Wap’s “My Way.”

Drake sampled clips from his own bar mitzvah in the “HYFR” video back in 2012, just in case you forgot he was Jewish.
