Kesha Speaks Out In Solidarity With Abuse Survivors The Night Before Her Court Date

'I had to tell the truth.'

Kesha heads to court today for the next leg of her ongoing legal battle with Dr. Luke. Last night (February 18), she posted an inspirational message on Instagram in solidarity with all survivors of abuse.

"I have nothing left to hide. I did this because the truth was eating away my soul and killing me from the inside,” wrote the 28-year-old singer. "this is not just for me. this is for every woman, every human who has ever been abused. sexually. emotionally. mentally. I had to tell the truth."

The “Tik Tok” star first went public with her abuse allegations against Dr. Luke in 2014, when she filed a claim stating that her former producer had “sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally abused” her.

More than a year later, she is still trying to escape the Sony Music contract that legally prevents her from making music without working with the man who allegedly assaulted her.

Kesha’s court hearing today may determine whether she’ll be able to release new music on her own. The singer acknowledged the fans who have supported her over the years, thanking "every one of you who has sent me sweet messages thoughts or energy. I am so grateful."
