Kendrick Lamar Already Doubled His Grammy Wins From Last Year -- Before The Show Even Started

And there might be more on the way.

Kendrick Lamar, with his eleven nominations, has the chance to have a night for the ages at the 2016 Grammys. And he's already well on his way.

Before the main show even started, K. Dot was awarded trophies for Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Music Video.

This is already a remarkable contrast from the 2014 Grammys, when Kendrick's widely beloved 2012 album, good kid, m.A.A.d city was shut out, despite seven nominations. Last year, the voting committee awarded him Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for "i," but the Compton native decided not to make the short trek to the Staples Center where the show was held.

Tonight, though, he's in the house, and is also set to perform. Among his many other nominations are Album of the Year, Best Rap Album and Song of the Year.
