The “Cheap Thrills” clip is set to a remixed version of the track that offsets Sia’s lines with new lyrics from the Jamaican rapper, turning the singer’s latest party anthem into a hip hop-tinged duet. It makes a perfect soundtrack for the video, which features two masked dancers in Sia wigs dominating a 1950s dance contest.
Framed inside an old-fashioned TV screen, the video follows a pretty standard old-timey dance-off that’s quickly crashed by members of Sia’s faceless army from the future. The anonymous pair bring the proceedings into the 21st century with disco moves, air guitar, and a few seconds of the “Single Ladies” dance -- think Back to the Future, Sia Edition. They even head into the credits with the "Time Warp" from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
