Little Mix’s ‘Secret Love Song’ Making-Of Vid Proves It Wasn’t All Tears On Set
Just two days after releasing their emotional “Secret Love Song” video, Little Mix have treated fans to a behind-the-scenes look at the nighttime shoot. And even though the vid was packed with brooding expressions and held-back tears, you’ll be relieved to know it wasn’t all melodrama on set.
See? Here’s Perrie Edwards smiling -- whew!
In the making-of vid, Leigh-Anne Pinnock explains that the heartbreaking song chronicles the plight of a couple who are in love but can’t be together.
“It makes me really emotional, this song,” she said. “It’s really heartfelt, it can relate to everybody.”
The girls shot their scenes separately, strolling around beautiful London in the wee hours of the morning. Jade Thirlwall revealed she finished filming just past 1 a.m., and Perrie and Jesy Nelson hadn’t even started their scenes yet. That’s #dedication.
Jason Derulo, meanwhile, shot his dance-centric scenes in a hotel room. “I’m basically singing my heart away to this special young lady,” he explained, before adding that the song is a totally “different vibe” from his usual strain of uptempo, club-friendly singles.
“It’s always cool to switch things up,” he said. Yeah, especially when you get to bust out moves like this.
