New Nelly music, unfortunately, arrives few and far between these days. So, instead, I'm left to hit play on Country Grammar and Nellyville and reminisce on happier times, when Nelly was a constant in my life. I do this not quite as frequently as I should (not daily), but unapologetically when I do.
I'll probably do it again this weekend, now that I've been teleported back to Nellyville via Nelly's cover of "Die A Happy Man," the country song by Thomas Rhett, which has topped the Hot Country Songs chart for six weeks in a row.
Nelly found huge success with some country music dabbling in 2004, on "Over and Over" alongside Tim McGraw, and was allegedly prepping a country EP last year. Maybe it's still on the way?
