Other than the question about whether Season 7 ought to have ever happened, the fiercest debate among “Gilmore Girls” fans is which of Rory Gilmore’s boyfriends is best. Some will claim the tall and handsome Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki) as the first and rightful owner of Rory’s heart. Others will defend the honor of affluent
fuckboy pretty boy Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry). And those who are *correct* (at least in this writer’s mind) will be Team Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) forever.
While we’re nowhere near reaching a consensus on this oft-debated issue, #TeamLogan has now claimed a small step toward victory: Czuchry is the first of Rory’s former flames to officially join Netflix’s upcoming four-part revival, according to TVLine.
However, the news doesn’t necessarily mean Jess and Dean won’t be returning to Stars Hollow. In fact, series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has said she’s aiming to get all three back for the new series.
“Our plan is to get as many of [Rory’s] lovely men back as possible,” she told TVLine earlier this week. “We’re still dealing with who’s going to be in it. We definitely want to see them. And we have storylines planned.”
As fans may recall, Logan was Rory’s last serious boyfriend before the series ended, though they left things on a sour note after she rejected his marriage proposal and he set off to start a new job in California. Is it possible Logan’s mended his broken relationship with “Ace” all these years later?
It’s certainly feasible, but Sherman-Palladino has revealed that Rory will be single when we meet her again: “She’s dating like any young woman with that face would be," she said.
Meanwhile, it looks like Logan’s not the only former Life & Death Brigade hunk to join the Netflix festivities. Tanc Sade, the actor who played Logan’s quirky Australian friend Finn, confirmed via Twitter that he’ll be returning as well.
One down, two to go — we’re waiting for you, Jess and Dean!
