A Wish List For Coldplay And Beyonce's Super Bowl Halftime Show

We've got a head full of dreams about this one.

With Coldplay leading the charge for the Pepsi Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show on Sunday, February 7, with some clutch cameo action from none other than successful SB alums Beyoncé (!!) and possibly Bruno Mars as well, expectations are at pretty peak levels right about now.

For starters, many in the Bey Hive have been buzzing about the possibility that Bey will pull another Baby-Carter-in-the-oven mic drop the way she did on the VMA stage in 2011. And while that would be ah-mazing, there are lots of other ways this crew could slay the day.

Blue and Apple

We already know Apple's got some serious strummin' skills, and since she and Blue made splashy vignettes on Coldplay's latest album, A Head Full of Dreams, this would be the perfect opportunity for the girls to go ahead and usher in the next generation of audience own-age. Perhaps they could join in with the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles, who are expected to play a bit too?

The video for Coldplay's first Dreams single, "Adventure of a Lifetime," unleashed the beasts within the bandmates -- as in, Chris Martin and company actually became crazy CGI apes and rocked out in the jungle for the vid. (And that was after they'd already partaken in a little primate stage play at the AMAs.)

Since one of Bruno Mars's many hits is called "Gorilla," there's crossover connection potential galore built right in here.

Jay Z and Rihanna join in on the fun.

As if the Super Bowl halftime show lineup wasn't already star-studded enough, there's been talk of additional hitmakers taking the stage, including Bey's own bae, Jay Z. Rihanna (Justin Timberlake, and even Swedish DJ Avicii have also been fed through the rumor mill).

With ANTI fresh on our pop culture plate, this would be the perfect moment for RiRi (and Drake?!) to "Work." Plus, Chris Martin and Jay have been friends for ages and like to play football together in their spare time, so it just makes sense that their shared sports interest would bring them together.

Coldplay commemorate their "Yellow" beginnings.

Coldplay Yellow

Since Dreams has been hinted to be Coldplay's last album ever (SOB), this would be a pretty perfect time for the band to give their own history and fan base a quick nod.

"Yellow" was their first smash hit in the U.S. and, 15 years later, fans still know every note to by heart, so it's basically a must. And not only do the lyrics totally work for the venue -- Santa Clara, California's Levi's Stadium is open so you can "look at the stars, look how they shine for you" -- but you can also douse the whole place with yellow lights/balloons/confetti/everything and still not be playing favorites with the teams (the Carolina Panthers's colors are light blue and black while the Denver Broncos use dark blue and deep orange). Win.

Beyoncé drops another album.

Remember that time you woke up on a random Friday in December 2013 and there was a new surprise Beyoncé album waiting for you to download and ditch all your weekend plans for? Well, of course you do. That was only the best day ever.

It's been more than two years now since Beyoncé came into our lives, so we're definitely due for some new tunes from Sasha Fierce. And what better opportunity could there be than laying claim to the 100 million-plus viewers that'll be tuned in?

Bey gets Chris and Bruno to do the 'Single Ladies' dance.

Beyonce Single Ladies Dance

Yeah, yeah, so what if Beyoncé already brought this one out during her 2013 halftime show with Destiny's Child? There are some things that never get old, and people doing the signature hand-flicking, floor-pumping, hip-shifting goodness that is the "Single Ladies" dance is definitely one of them.

The halftime performers stage a big stare-down to close it out.

If there's one thing Beyoncé loves to do in a duet, it's putting up "ice grills" to see who can last the longest in a staring contest. When she and Nicki Minaj were prepping for their first-ever live performance of "Feeling Myself" at October's TidalX1020 concert, she revealed her secret talent for keeping a straight face. And while Nicki might've had her number during rehearsal, we bet B would get Chris and/or Bruno to crack in a heartbeat, giving her the last laugh (per usual).
