'90s kids, prepare yourselves, because what we're about to tell you is going to unleash a tidal wave of emotions -- so you might want to sit down. All of your favorite Nickelodeon characters will officially join forces on the big screen in one epic movie. Feel free to do this now:
Per Deadline, Jared Hess, the co-writer and director of "Napoleon Dynamite," has just signed on to combine all of your fave Nickelodeon characters in one glorious, live-action animated hybrid movie. Think of it as "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" starring Tommy Pickles and Heffer Wolfe.
The project, currently titled "NickToons," will see characters from beloved toons like "Rugrats," "Ren and Stimpy," "Rocko's Modern Life," "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters," "Doug," "Hey Arnold!" and so many others come together for the very first time on the big screen.
The film is part of a larger initiative to revive old TV and movie properties at Nickelodeon. The network is currently reaching out to other creators of iconic Nick shows to work with them on exciting new ideas. In November, Nickelodeon announced its plan to revive "Hey Arnold!" with a TV movie -- and it's surely not the last to get the reboot treatment.
