Sony Pictures and the Jim Henson Company will reportedly produce the film, with “Guardians of the Galaxy” co-writer Nicole Perlman penning the script. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “It is unclear if the new take is a re-imagining of the story or a sequel, as the new take is being kept deep in the vault.”
The original film starred Jennifer Connelly as a teenager who had to navigate a mystical maze in an effort to save her baby brother from the Goblin King (Bowie). In addition to playing the antagonist goblin overlord, Bowie also recorded five songs for the fantasy film.
Needless to say, “Labyrinth” fans have conflicted feelings about the reboot. Some are optimistic about introducing a new generation to the Magic Dance, but most are simply concerned about who’d be able to fill Bowie’s shoes, if it does end up being a proper remake. Here are some fans’ thoughts:
Top two pics for new #Labyrinth reboot Goblin king/queen. 1. Lady Gaga 2. Zachary Quinto (Can he sing?)

If Labyrinth was remade today, it'd be gender-swapped and Lady Gaga would be The Goblin Queen.
