Halsey Announced Her New Single In A Very Bieber-esque Way

Oh, and here's what happens when you call her mysterious phone number.

Following the breakout success of “New Americana,” Halsey has announced the second single from her debut album Badlands.

Much like Justin Bieber’s Purpose tracklist reveal last year — in which he recruited a team of graffiti artists to spray-paint song titles on walls around the world — Halsey unveiled her news on the streets of Brooklyn.

Fans wasted no time showing up to the intersection she tweeted about, where they found a brick wall covered in graffiti art and the words “Colors Halsey,” revealing her new single is “Colors.”

The black silhouette on the wall is splashed with lilac, referring to the “Colors” lyric, “You were red and you liked me ‘cause I was blue. You touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky and you decided purple just wasn’t for you.”

In another interesting twist to the big reveal, there’s also a phone number painted in red at the bottom of the wall: (317)-723-5637. When you call the number, you hear the melody of “Colors” playing in the background as Halsey’s voice says, “Hello, welcome to Badlands Visitor Center. We hope you’ve been enjoying your stay. We’re delighted to inform you that there are plenty of fun activities to explore in the Badlands. Tennis lessons will be resuming this month with a brand new coach. And don’t forget to support your local photography club. A reminder to all Badlands residents and visitors: If you find yourself in trouble, keep running.”

The call is followed by a text message that just reads, “the password is ‘KeepRunning.’” Hmm… could this be a hint for the song’s upcoming music video? We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
