There's no doubt that the beauty industry markets itself toward women, which is why it makes little to no sense that female beauty entrepreneurs are underrepresented. Fortunately, Sephora is working to change that with its new program Sephora Accelerate.
The program, part of the larger SEPHORA Stands social initiative, will help boost businesswomen by offering them the necessary resources to start their business as well as access to industry leaders. As the company notes, female entrepreneurs are often at a disadvantage since "85% of venture capital funded start-ups are led exclusively by men."
We're all about equal opportunity, and TBH, women getting the boost they need to dominate the beauty industry seems a little overdue. That said, we're looking forward to taking advantage of all of the bomb beauty advances that are sure to come.
