Though relatively revelatory about certain aspects of his personal life -- his youth in Fayetteville, North Carolina, his connection with his mother, his time at St. John's -- J. Cole is notoriously private when it comes to his romantic relationship. So he probably had no plans to even tell fans that he married his longtime girlfriend, Melissa Heholt.
But "Creed" director Ryan Coogler did the deed for him -- accidentally.
The two sat down during an MLKNow event in Harlem on Monday (Jan. 18), and Coogler apparently didn't know that the rapper had been keeping the big news close to the chest. Cole never even confirmed the engagement rumors from late 2013, but that didn't stop Coogler from asking about life as a married man.
Guess this is why Cole doesn't really do interviews.
