Brie Larson Performed Pop Songs At Suburban Malls In 2005

And now she's up for an Academy Award.

Before Brie Larson was getting crazy recognition for being a phenomenal actress (we see you with that Academy Award nomination, grrrrl) she was strumming an electric guitar on stage with Jesse McCartney and releasing bubble-gum pop tracks for Top 40 Radio.

She graced the pages of Popstar! magazine and was played regularly on Radio Disney. Yup, you probably watched her on television and listened to her on the radio on the reg — the same Brie Larson from 2005 is the lady who just won a Critic’s Choice Award for her role in “Room.”

Here are some places you may remember Brie from during her pop star days:

  • Brie’s single “She Said” was featured on TRL in 2005.

The track was from her debut album, Finally Out of P.E.

  • You probably watched her on your fave after school program.

    Nickelodeon’s “U-Pick Live.”

  • She was in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade…

  • And she worked with Jimmy Buffett on the movie “Hoot.”

Brie wrote and recorded a song for the soundtrack called “Coming Around.”

  • And she even released a DVD.

Don’t mean to brag, but I saw her in concert, bought the DVD at her merch table and LOOK! She said my friend and I were her fave, NBD.

  • Recently she found her underrated pop tracks on a karaoke List.

We hope she grabbed the mic for “She Said.”
