What Kendrick Lamar And President Obama Talked About During Their White House Meeting

TDE releases 'Pay It Forward.'

When President Barack Obama met with Kendrick Lamar at the the White House, the two had a powerful conversation, as demonstrated in a Top Dawg Entertainment video unleashed today (Jan. 11) entitled "Pay It Forward."

"I sat down with President Barack Obama and shared the same views, topics concerning the inner cities, the problem, the solutions and furthermore, embracing the youth," he explained in the clip. "Both being aware that mentoring saves lives."

Earlier today, we also heard more about Kendrick's White House visit from Obama's Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett.

"[Kendrick] was at the White House," she said during an episode of BuzzFeed's "Another Round" podcast. "He came and he visited the president, and you know what the president said to him? [Because] he was a little nervous — bless his heart, he’s really a very nice young man, and the president said, 'Can you believe that we’re both sitting in this Oval Office?'"
