Lady Gaga has been teasing us about the follow-up to 2013’s ARTPOP for over a year. And while we love how Cheek To Cheek took Gaga back to her jazz/American Traditional roots, many pop lovers are aching to hear if Mother Monster has anymore hits in store.
That’s why Sunday night’s 2016 Golden Globes served as a little twinkle in the Gaga album abyss. She revealed backstage that she will release an album THIS YEAR. What that album is? When exactly? We haven’t a clue, darlings.
So, what do we know about Gaga’s 2016 album? Let’s get to it:
Fans are calling it LG5
And it follows up The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, ARTPOP and Cheek To Cheek, her collaboration with Tony Bennett.

On Sunday, Gaga told Golden Globes reporters: “Will it reflect my outer appearance? That’s a difficult thing to say as I don’t know that you yet know what I will look like for my next album, as I’m still creating those things. It’s something that’s always a gradual change with me.”
It can’t be the Cole Porter album, could it?Getty
About a year ago, Tony Bennett said that the duo is recording a follow-up to Cheek To Cheek, and it will consist of Cole Porter cover songs, American classics.
Working with Mark Ronson?

Working with RedOne
As for some legitimate facts, Gaga has been in the studio with RedOne, who produced hits like “Poker Face” and “LoveGame” with her.
You’ll hear guitars
Around the same time in September, she was hitting the studio with RedOne, she posted this silent video of a guitar. She’s said that she was always a fan of bands like Led Zepplin and that “I’m certain that side of my musicianship will seep through the pores of music in the future.”
It’ll be the ’best album of the decade’Kevin Winter/Getty Images
According to RedOne…
“We took a little break from each other and now it feels like we are in a good place, both of us. She did her thing, I did my thing, and it feels like we’re back on track together,” RedOne said to The National. “With Gaga, I’m fully committed until we’re done — we’re just going to work on writing songs — 20, 30, 40 songs — until we get hopefully the best album of the decade.”
Her ideas for the album are ’like a locust giving birth to earworms’
“Basically I can’t sleep without every single song I’m writing repeating endlessly, but I’m loving it again,” she wrote on an Instagram post last January. “Embracing the torture, as I’m assaulted by my own thoughts. Like a locust giving birth to earworms. Eeeeew!”
