One Direction’s ‘Family Guy’ Appearance Will Give Fans A Mid-Hiatus Treat

The guys are heading to Quahog.

Directioners, let us bow our heads and give thanks that, even though One Direction are devastatingly parting ways for a year-long hiatus, they’re not completely outta sight. Because apparently, these guys don’t just pull a “poof, we’re gone” disappearing act — they keep finding ways to grace us with their presence. #Bless.

In the latest such example, Entertainment Weekly reports the guys will appear in an episode of the Fox animated comedy “Family Guy.” Seems kinda random, but the band now joins an exhaustive list of celeb guests who’ve lent their voices to the show, including musicians like Ariana Grande, Jason Mraz and Adam Levine.

According to EW, the episode centers on Chris’ homecoming king dreams, and 1D will appear “in a campfire scene with Stewie, who tells them a scary story involving non-skinny jeans.” (Clearly, this must’ve been dreamt up before Harry Styles decided he has an affinity for flared pants, but whatever.) Unfortunately, though, only Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have recorded lines for the episode, so it looks like this one’s all #LiLo and no #Narry.

Band dad/creator Simon Cowell also reportedly appears in the scene, but no word yet on whether he’ll voice his animated self. It wouldn’t be the first time, though — he previously appeared in a Season 6 episode of the show alongside his former “American Idol” co-judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.

In a statement to EW, “Family Guy” executive producers Richard Appel and Steve Callaghan said, “There are not a lot of shows that, in the same season, feature guest-star appearances by both Frank Sinatra, Jr. and One Direction. And we really enjoyed their time with us, until we realized we were both old enough to be their fathers.”

The episode, titled “Run, Chris, Run” will premiere sometime in May, probably right around the time you’ll be in desperate need of a new, mid-hiatus 1D fix.

Between this news and the recently-leaked footage from their long-lost “Infinity” video (which we can only hope gets released sometime soon), it’s clear there’s still more One Direction to go around. And that’s definitely something worth celebrating, amirite, Peter?
