Selena Gomez’s Revival single “Same Old Love” dropped a whole four months ago, but a new version of the song has now creeped up unexpectedly. And it’s not just the same old tune — this one’s got Fetty Wap on it. YAAAA BABY.
The “Trap Queen” rapper has teamed up with Selena for a fiery remix of the sultry kiss-off tune, which finds Fetty delivering a dazed-out intro: “I am so sick, I’m hoping you’ll notice, yeah baby/ So sick of the same old love/ Like a dose of the same old drug, yeah baby/ Really starting to get under my skin.”
He then throws the track over to Sel, who comes in with the song’s original bridge before launching into the familiar Charli XCX-assisted chorus. Fetty returns later with another verse, crooning, “Baby, and I don’t mean to make you cry/ Baby, thought you were my ride or die.”
In November, Selena dropped a Same Old Love (Remixes) EP featuring four fresh takes on the track, but the Fetty-featuring one might just be the best reworking to date. We’re admittedly kinda preoccupied with Sel’s current single “Hands To Myself” and its accompanying sexy music video, but this new remix is a great excuse to revisit an old fave.
