Kourtney Kardashian Gets Real About Living With Anxiety

The Kardashian sister opens up about her anxiety struggles after her split from Scott Disick.

Kourtney Kardashian is known for her masterful no-BS filter and deadpan delivery, but amid the constant camera flashes and her public relationship drama, the single mom of three has been quietly suffering with anxiety.

The elder Kardashian sister opened up about her anxiety struggles on her app, saying, "I'm generally not a nervous person, but I get anxious."

Kourtney's crazy, roller coaster of a year only exacerbated her disorder. Following the birth of her third child Reign last December and her highly publicized breakup from her boyfriend of nine years, Scott Disick, this past July, Kourtney was starting to feel crippled by her anxiety.

"I didn't know that I would be going through a breakup and just an overall crazy year," the 36-year-old said. "Everyone deals with hard times in their lives differently."

To help get it under control, Kourtney followed her sister Khloe's example and started hitting the gym, hard. And she's got the insane abs and picture-perfect gym selfies to prove it.

"I try to exercise five days a week," she said. "My anxiety is always worse in the mornings so that's when I schedule my workouts. I usually start with a quick run or jumping rope to warm up. I have to do something fast to really kill [my anxiety]."

"People are very quick to judge others by appearance, but you truly don't know what someone's motivation is or what is going on inside them," she added. "For me, exercise is as much about my body as it is about calming my mind."

Opening up about personal struggles is never easy, especially when it's something like anxiety, which is often misrepresented and misunderstood in our culture. So, we're happy that Kourtney is helping empower others to take control of their anxiety -- and learn to live happier and healthier lives.
