At this point, it's become pretty much canon that when it comes to a holiday -- any holiday -- Neil Patrick Harris and his family are doing it better than everyone else.

Whether it's their consistently rad family costume fare for Halloween or twins Harper and Gideon giving NPH and David Burtka a fun spook on Christmas, they're pretty much running the festivity circuit at all times.

So, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that their New Year's Eve countdown party was the best -- even if it was set right there in the comforts of their home.

It started with David tediously preparing some fresh pasta with the kiddos.

He made it extra fancy/pretty/yummy with the black truffle topping. Well played, David.

And then they all gathered around the candlelit table for some fine NYE dining together as a fam.

That's a pretty lovely moment right there.

Then NPH decked his kids out with some rockin' 2016 gear.

They might not look too impressed by these glasses, but we're digging them so hard right now.

When the ball dropped, that's when the dance party they'd been waiting for finally commenced.

We have to wonder whether the squirts stayed up for the real midnight or if dads wised up to Netflix's deliciously evil trick countdown feature. Either way, this is just too precious.
