Arrest Warrant Issued For Bill Cosby For Alleged 2004 Sexual Assault

Cosby has been charged with aggravated indecent assault, a second-degree felony.

UPDATE (12/30/15, 3:15 p.m. ET): Cosby arrived for arraignment on Wednesday (Dec. 30) afternoon. He did not enter a plea and his bail was set at $1 million. A preliminary hearing has been set for January 14, 2016.

Police in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, issued an arrest warrant for entertainer Bill Cosby on Wednesday (Dec. 30) for allegedly assaulting a woman in his home in 2004, People reports.

Cosby has been charged with aggravated indecent assault, a second-degree felony. (Although, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County DA previously said it was a first-degree felony.)

People reports that the statute of limitations in the case of former Temple University employee Andrea Constand, 42, would've run out in January 2016.

"Obviously we appreciate the expression of confidence in her,"  Dolores Troiani, Constand’s attorney, told People. "We'll have to see what happens. We hope justice will be done. We will cooperate fully."

The charges, officials said at a press conference on Wednesday morning, were the result of "new information that came to light in July 2014."

"Today, after examination of all the evidence, we are able to seek justice on behalf of the victim," a spokesperson for Montgomery County District Attorney said.
