If you were planning a resolution that 2016 would be the year when you finally achieved your longterm goal of marrying Ryan Phillippe, you're going to need to come up with a Plan B.

For alas, that ship has sailed -- and there's a beautiful young law student on it.

According to multiple reports, Ryan Phillippe is now officially engaged to girlfriend Paulina Slagter. Phillippe is best known as the mid-1990s dreamboat from "Cruel Intentions" (and most recently as the star of "Secrets and Lies"); the bride-to-be is also an attorney-to-be at Stanford Law School. Phillippe was previously married to Reese Witherspoon.

Page Six has the scoop that Phillippe popped the question to Slagter over the holidays, and People confirmed that Slagter was espied with some bling on that finger while out and about in Miami this weekend.

Unfortunately, neither Phillippe nor Slagter have seen fit to post a pic of the ring on social media yet (RUDE), so we'll have to make do with this sweet snap of the two from last Christmas.
