2 Chainz Turned The Dab Into A $2 Million Christmas Sweater Idea

Chainz donated a portion of the proceeds.

2 Chainz saw the dab — a dance craze that’s been done by everyone from Migos to NFL stars to Stevie Wonder — and he turned it into a successful business.

The rapper created and released Dabbin Santa sweaters, which you might’ve seen him rocking. And they're apparently selling like crazy.

"We made close to $2 million in revenue,” he told Forbes today (Dec. 28), before noting that a portion of the proceeds also go to charity. "I could not continue receiving those blessings without giving back at the end of the day.”

A percentage of the money went to his own T.R.U. Foundation. The foundation paid a year’s worth of rent for a disabled veteran named Deirdre Palmetto. T.R.U. also donated a vehicle to a family who recently lost valuables in a fire.

Chainz -- who also created a Dabbin Santa app -- made sure to say that this wasn’t an easy $2 million.

"I don’t want people to think this was an overnight success,” he said. "We’ve been trying with a bunch of designs for a couple years now. This is just timing meets opportunity.”
