Watch SKATERS Bust It Up On ‘Artist To Watch Live’

Update: The livestream is now over. Thanks for watching! We’ll have on-demand clips soon, so check back for more of this.

Hey kids! Good evening and welcome to Hive’s Artist to Watch Live series, featuring New York-based punk band SKATERS. SKATERS — none of whom can skate — all moved to New York from disparate bands to form what frontman Michael Ian Cummings calls “an art project” of a band, an act that merges punk, rock, grunge and reggae to wholly danceable effect.

Just a few months after hitting NYC, the band was born — comprising Cummings, guitarist Josh Hubbard, bassist Dan Burke and drummer Noah Rubin — and with it the stellar EP Schemers, which nabbed the attention of Warner Bros.

Now on the label, the guys are currently finishing up their debut LP, MANHATTAN — which drops on February — and are hitting the road with Palma Violets. Tonight, however, you’ll have the chance to see them up close and personal at their Halloween-themed show.

Tonight’s concert is live from New York’s Studio at Webster Hall, and it begins promptly at 9:45 PM. The show is sold out, but you can watch the whole thing right here at

MANHATTAN is out on Warner Bros. Records on February 25, 2014.
