Just in time for Mother's Day (which is Sunday, so don't forget to pick up your phone), Georgia Anne Muldrow and Dudley Perkins deliver their own hip-hop and doo-wop-infused ode to all the moms out there with "Muthadear." It's also the latest single off their upcoming album The Lighthouse and perfectly demonstrates their whimsical and sincere approach to music. This is evident halfway through Perkins' opening verse, wherein he reflects on hiding a certain pastime from his mom.

"I got caught smoking weed once [and] after that I no longer hid it," he said. "My mom asked me about it and told me not to lie. I told her the truth [and] she commenced to slap out my left tooth." Muldrow said that she got caught "a gang of times" while noting that her mom once said of her and Perkins' apartment: "Wow, it's real green up in here!"

Perkins and Muldrow dedicate "Muthadear" not just to their own mothers -- though they admit this is "the best gift" they have ever given -- but to mothers everywhere, or as she describes it, "the feminine energetic aspect that holds the world together."

Georgia Anne Muldrow and Dudley Perkins'  The Lighthouse is due out May 21. Stream "Muthadear" below:
