Weird Vibes Ep. #16: I Am Marnie Stern

You’re about to get intimate with one of rock’n’roll’s greatest musicians, Marnie Stern, and her little dog Fig too, in the Weird Vibes ep. #16 feature, “I Am Marnie Stern.” This future award-winning rockumentary was shot in NYC and Austin, Tx. during SXSW and provides a unique and illuminating glimpse into the career of this Jewish American guitar-goddess, affectionately known by millions as “The Jappy Shredder," as she prepared for the release of her fourth album, The Chronicles of Marnia. It’s a rockumentary that doesn’t just rock… it rockuments.

Between her countless performances and press appearances, Marnie takes time to talk with friends and make some new ones. She discusses "doing things with your penis in the car" with Mac Demarcotalks life with Arthur Ashin of Autre Ne Veut, and gets social media tips from Pete Berkman of Anamanaguchi. She also chats with Cole Smith of DIIV & Lee Spielman of Trash Talk about their marital statuses at a Pitchfork event, and her dear friend Kliph Scurlock of the Flaming Lips plays the role of intrepid clueless music reporter.
