Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Slink Through New York City

Last night Nick Cave (the musician, not the artist) and the Bad Seeds played New York's Beacon Theatre last night. Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Sharon Van Etten opened the show and joined the band for a few of their songs. According to photographer Nadia Chaudhury, Cave was charismatic as usual, his onstage persona a mix of lounge singer, storyteller and fire-and-brimstone preacher. At one point a fan handed him a letter, and he promised, "I won't lose the fucking letter, or read it later, or reply." Hey, at least he was honest.
