Atoms For Peace Spin an Essential Mix

With their Atoms For Peace album Amok, Thom Yorke and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich dipped into the glitchy drum machine-driven world of electronica. As BBC Radio host Pete Tong points out at the beginning of this Essential Mix, Amok is “one of their deepest, and bleepiest, excursions into electronica to date.” Here, they take that droney dance vibe and stretch it into a two-hour set of breakbeat-oriented songs, which include tracks from DOOM, Boys Noize and Luke Abbott. The duo also add in some unreleased material, including York’s “Has Been” and Radiohead’s “Harmonic Loop,” which is little more than just that. Stream this high-end electro mix below:
