Brooklyn's the Men plowed through Bowery Ballroom last night in celebration of their latest eardrum-shattering release New Moon. Things got wild with fans stage-diving amidst the band's punishing wall of guitars. A highlight of the set included a building, complex instrumental intro that included drone-y layers and a live horn section. The capacity crowd turned up extra early to see first act Parquet Courts, the scrappy new post-punk band whose lyric-driven catchy bits are making waves in the scene right now (still in awe of the newfound attention, they mentioned onstage that they'd be staying up all night in order to catch an early morning flight to play a show in Mexico the next day). Nude Beach, purveyors of rootsy guitar rock with garage leanings, played as well. Pics of all the action, below.
