Peaking Lights Blend Structure and Chaos for 'First Take'

San Francisco duo Peaking Lights are more than just bandmates -- they're a married couple who also share a young son. Though they've come together (in more ways than one) the pair have very different musical backgrounds: Electronics mastermind Aaron Coyes' past work was rooted in improvisation, while vocalist Indra Dunis always wrote in more conventional song styles. "It's structure and total chaos," Coyes says of their songwriting partnership in this latest First Take, Hive's video series on emerging artists. Check out the band's performance of "Lo Hi" and "Dreambeat, which come from their latest LP Lucifer -- we think you'll find the right structure/chaos balance in their swamp-dub aesthetic.
