Charli XCX Gets Bitchy for 'In My Room'

Following in the sonic footsteps of Lykke Li and Fever Ray (with a special nod to Kate Bush), British goth-pop artist Charli XCX was a natural choice for In My Room, Hive and Yours Truly's intimate performance series. "I like to make dark aspects, and kind of mysterious, haunting lyrics, crossed with these bubble gum, pop tunes," she confessed to us before the taping. She mixes up different shades of her personality when she sings, too: "I'm quite shy, but then when I'm on stage doing a full live performance, I'm a super bitch." Check out Charli XCX perform stripped down versions of "You're the One" and "Stay Away."
