My Morning Jacket Do a Victory Dance at MSG - Photos

Although My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James called Madison Square Garden the "Holy Grail" of gigs last night, the metaphor doesn't quite fit -- MMJ have now played the Garden twice. Even Indiana Jones wasn't allowed to touch the Grail more than once. But playing the 20,000-capacity venue must be a big thrill, even the second time around. The band indeed look lively in this photo set by Loren Wohl, who captured James at his most manic, most wild and, er, most hairy. Check out photos from their Madison Square Garden show last night, where the band, bathed in blue and red, look literally on fire.

This end-of-the-year MSG show is a victory dance for even more reasons: Circuital was their highest chart debut ever, and the record was just nominated for the Best Alternative Album Grammy.
