If you’ve ever clamored for Trent Reznor performing a Led Zeppelin classic, layered with Karen O’s squeaky voice and set to David Fincher-directed imagery, today’s your day. In conjunction with the all-out promotional blitz for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Reznor and O’s take on “Immigrant Song” becomes an exercise in staring into a hyper-imagery abyss. It’s hard to make out exactly what’s going on here: Is that a flower blooming? Is someone screaming? Is this just a VCR tape in need of repair? You certainly don’t get any clues into the movie itself. Then again, this is Reznor doing Zeppelin, so if that’s not enough to freak out on, this accompaniment should do the trick.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack is out now.
