A Movie Called 'Jurassic Bark' Starring Time-Traveling Dogs Is Almost Here Because Yes

It's produced by a member of Sigur Rós, too.

This past summer, director Colin Trevorrow took us back to our childhood dinosaur roots with "Jurassic World," the third "Jurassic Park" sequel we didn't know we needed. And while we know there will be a sequel, it likely won't hit theaters until 2018.

So, what's a crew of dino-loving folk to do until then? The answer, of course, is go see "Jurassic Bark," a movie about a pair of talking dogs...in space (a movie that Colin Trevorrow is not directing, FYI).

The trailer is a pretty much a shot-for-shot parody of the one for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which is a bit confusing based on the title, but we're just going with it.

"Yes, 'Jurassic Bark' is an actual movie! Being released late 2016," the trailer's description reads on YouTube. "The film follows two space dogs as they traverse galaxies and time in search of the elusive bone of enlightenment."

And the odd details keep trickling in. As Pitchfork points out, "Jurassic Bark" is produced by Orri Dyrason, a member of Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. Dyrason and fellow SR member Georg Holm also produced a 2014 film called "The Three Dogateers," which "Jurassic Bark" is apparently a sequel to.

Sigur Rós have a whole slew of notable soundtrack moments in movies -- like the end of "The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou" and the desperate climax of "127 Hours" -- but no word on whether or not the band's music will be featured in the film.

Given visuals like this, I certainly hope so.
