Dylan O'Brien Fights Pre-CGI Cranks In This Exclusive Clip From 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'

They're not QUITE as scary before the movie magic, but boy are they fun.

As anyone who saw "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" this past fall can tell you, the so-called Cranks that roam Thomas' (Dylan O'Brien) post-apocalyptic United States are a nightmare. They bite, scratch, and kill without mercy, but undoubtedly the most terrifying thing about them is that they're just like us -- only they're unlucky enough to be several stages down the line in a horrible disease called The Flare, which wreaks havoc on the mind and body until the sufferer becomes a horror show straight out of "The Walking Dead."

Many of the Cranks came to life via the power of makeup -- MTV News was on set for a portion of filming, and met several of them -- but those nightmare-inducing sewer Cranks were made with the power of CGI movie magic. So it's pretty damn funny to watch O'Brien and Rosa Salazar, who plays Brenda, acting completely out-of-their-minds terrified of a guy making funny faces in a motion-capture suit.

Seriously though, who is this guy, and why are we so focused on Leonardo DiCaprio winning an Oscar when he exists?!??!
