More 'Sherlock' Is Coming Your Way With Ghosts, Intrigue And Benedict Cumberbatch

The stage is set, the curtain rises, we are ready to begin...

Back in October, our petticoats were all a-ruffle when we received a tantalizing glimpse at the new "Sherlock" Victorian Christmas special, so hold on to your era-specific undergarments, because an extended trailer just dropped and it contains an avenging ghost bride WE REPEAT: AN AVENGING GHOST BRIDE.

While we'd basically watch anything involving our OTP of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman gallivanting through 1895 London, the super creepy plot has us doubly intrigued. Holmes and Watson appear to be up against a threat that they can't quite explain: Thomas Ricoletti's recently-deceased wife is somehow walking the streets seeking revenge (while wearing her wedding gown, because DRAMA).

The hour-and-a-half-long special, aptly titled "Sherlock: The Abominable Bride," will air January 1 at 9:00pm ET on PBS, and you'll also be able to catch it in limited theatrical release. ~cue maniacal avenging ghost bride scream~
