The fact that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's latest movie together is called "Sisters" is a little meta, really, because even though this is supposedly fiction it's basically the same as their real lives. At this point, these ladies have totally become family. Closer than family, even, because it's not blood -- or pushy parental units -- tying them together for Thanksgiving dinners so much as it is their unshakable emotional (and comedic) attachment to one another.

See, Tina and Amy go way back.

The ladies first met back in the early '90s at Chicago's ImprovOlympic when they were introduced by the theater's co-founder who told Amy, "there was another new improviser in another one of her classes whom she thought I would really like. Her name was Tina and she was like me but with brown hair," Amy recalled in her biography, "Yes Please."

Their friendship started with them doing improv over chicken wings.

"We used to improvise at, like, chicken wing restaurants and be like, 'Hey, who here wants to see some improv? Nobody? OK,'" Tina remembered.

They went separate ways for a bit but were still helping each other out all the while.

When Amy joined the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York, for example, Tina was able to take her spot in Second City's touring company. And then eventually Tina convinced Amy to do "Saturday Night Live" with her.

There, they were a pair like no other.

Whether it was sporting mom jeans or delivering the iconic "Weekend Update" or perfectly embodying political nemeses, they were "SNL" gold.

They stuck together in the movie scene as well.

Their off-screen lives were pretty similar as well. They had their babies around the same time.

They got married two years apart, and all their kids are 10 and under -- a designed move, surely, so they can all be multi-generational besties. And when things haven't gone quite as planned, you never hear the other utter a peep. Blood oath-level secrecy going on here, guys.

They also had similar successes in the TV department.

Tina's "30 Rock" was a critical gem, while Amy's "Parks and Recreation" was a cult fave-turned-success. Which means they never had to worry about which sibling was the public fave because BOTH.

They each gave each other mad love in their books.

If you didn't tear up reading Tina describing the exact moment she realized she loved TF out of Amy or when Amy lapped endless praise upon her work wife, you have no heart.

Their Golden Globes matching was actual perfection.

Where do we sign the petition that begs them to always do this show? Seriously.

They even took on Taylor Swift together.

Tinamy even shimmy alike because sisters.

They tend to match a lot.

Here, it was the 2013 SAG Awards, and the jury's out on whether it was on purpose or not, but it really doesn't matter.

They've perfectly coordinated their dance moves.

Even the simplest poop joke ever can get these two rolling -- especially if one or the other makes it.

FF to the 5:00 mark for the latest example.

They also do the sobworthy shout out thing like FAMILY.

In a Glamour Magazine-led compliment fest, the two gave one another some face-to-face praise that's almost too sweet.

Amy told Tina, "I think one of your greatest accomplishments was transitioning from the captain you were at 'SNL' to creating a show ['30 Rock']. That is so hard—extricating yourself from a place you were so comfortable and successful, then doing something else so well. That, and the fact that you invented the word flerm."

In return, Tina offered, "I would say that one of your greatest accomplishments, Amy Poehler, is that you have so successfully used your art and comedy as a source of positivity in the world, by creating Smart Girls [an online community for girls, encouraging them to be their authentic selves], by making [Leslie in] 'Parks and Rec' not only a positive feminist character but creating a good-hearted worldview within that program."

They stick together despite their differences.

They always have each other's backs.

They know exactly what kinda squad they are.

Hence the subject of their newest movie. They just are.
