Charlie Puth only released his debut single earlier this year, but since then, he’s established himself as the pop world’s reigning Duet King. His smash single “See You Again” with Wiz Khalifa is now a Golden Globe nominee, and “Nothing But Trouble” with Lil Wayne and “Marvin Gaye” with Meghan Tranior proved that any track he lends his smooth vocals to is automatically a must-hear.
But the 24-year-old singer-songwriter’s next collab may just be his biggest yet, because it involves none other than Selena Freakin’ Gomez.
On Wednesday night (Dec. 10), Charlie teased a “new song with @selenagomez coming soon” with a black-and-white video in which he lip-syncs the words while Sel grabs on to him. Judging by her adorably manic little laugh, she’s definitely psyched about this tune… and though we don’t hear much except the lyrics “We don’t talk anymore” repeated in Charlie’s falsetto over a sunny beat, we’re definitely stoked as well.
Charlie and Selena both recently headlined Jingle Ball concerts in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, and they’re also slated to take the stage in New York on Dec. 11 and Chicago on Dec. 16. Here’s hoping they surprise-drop the single before those shows so we can hear it live! (Note to Charlie: If you do perform together, it’d be best not to recreate your AMAs makeout with Sel… we have a feeling Niall Horan would be bummed.)
