Even This Fox News Anchor Thinks The Second Amendment Is 'Stupid'

This is one #UnpopularOpinion worth reading.

Fox News anchor Geraldo Rivera hit Twitter on Wednesday night after the shooting in San Bernardino, California left 14 dead and 17 injured, to express outrage over yet another mass shooting.

Not only did he say that he found the Second Amendment (you know, that one passed to help maintain a "a well regulated Militia... [as] necessary to the security of a free State" back in 1791) to be "stupid," but he also put the National Rifle Association (NRA) on blast for being "full of s--t."

While this kind of comment coming from a Fox News anchor is a bit of an #UnpopularOpinion (as his @ mentions might illustrate), this isn't Rivera's first time criticizing the United States' gun control laws. In 2014, he took to Facebook after the accidental death of a gun range instructor in New Jersey to express the same kind of sentiment.

"...The 2nd Amendment, the provision that gives every American the right to keep and bear arms, is blind and stupid. In its relentless pimping for the gun industry, the NRA has unleashed an avalanche of deadly weapons on this gun-crazy country," he wrote.

Rivera, who is also regularly critical of President Obama, even commended the president for his attempts at changing gun laws.

When someone who is generally critical of progressive politics steps up to emphatically call-out the culture of inaction re: gun control laws, it certainly says something.
