Sure, he can sing and dance on “Glee,” but in this video actor Harry Shum Jr. thinks he could also kick a little butt as Batman’s sidekick-turned-solo hero.
“I think I would be able to ease right into those shoes,” Shum tells MTV Geek during a recent interview. For Shum, the kind of dance-like fluidity of martial arts is something he appreciates in the new wave of comic book films, and he believes he’d be a good fit for Nightwing/Dick Grayson should DC ever decide to bring the character to the big screen.
Most of you will recall, the closest we came was the “Robin” reveal at the end of “The Dark Knight Rises” and while Joseph Gordon Levitt would have made a worthy successor to Christian Bale in that franchise (in spite of how groan-worthy the process of getting the character to that point was), Warner Brothers and Christopher Nolan have effectively closed the book on that version of the franchise.
Shum can be seen in the upcoming second season of “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” as Kuai Lang. “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” makes its debut on Machnima October 26th.
