SDCC 2013: The Amazing Spider-Ham Mini-Bust From Gentle Giant Ltd. Is Revealed And Reviewed [EXCLUSIVE]

Gentle Giant Ltd. will have a huge presence and a ton of exclusives at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, and their final reveal before the big show will blow the mind of even the most jaded of fans: The Amazing Spider-Ham Mini-Bust! Yep, Marvel Comics' greatest superhero, Peter Porker himself has been immortalized in three dimensions and I've got one in-hand! Read on for plenty of exclusive photos and the full review.

The Marvel Comics mini-bust comes packaged in a full-color box that features artwork of Spider-Ham in all his pork-related glory! A red label at the top of each side designates the piece as a 2013 Comic-Con Exclusive.

The number on the bottom of the box matches the authenticity card that rests on top of the packing inside the box. You also note the Spider-Ham logo on each of the box flaps. Can you imagine the literal interpretation of that symbol? An eight-legged pig = nightmare fuel!

Once out of the styrofoam packing, Peter Porker is revealed! The mini-bust shows off Spider-Ham's entire upper body with his arm outstretched in all-out superhero action. The sculpt is very well done, with his odd proportions captured perfectly. The webbing on the suit has been sculpted on, so no worries about shoddy tampographed paint missing the mark.

The base paint on Spider-Ham is cleanly applied. This includes the red, blue, and black of the webs and base. The white eyes and nostrils(?) stand out against the darker colors, but are dulled somewhat by the blackwash that appears to be used lightly over the entire min-bust. This gives the eyes the same appearance as the shaded art on the box, and make the bust look a little less cartoon-like than the character generally does.

So, that's pretty much it. Let's face it: mini-busts are all about the looks, so here are some more photos!

Be sure to hit up Gentle Giant Ltd.'s official website later today for all the details about The Amazing Spider-Ham, and don't forget to stop by their booth (#3513) at SDCC to pick up one of these Limited Editions for a measly 45 bucks!
