The Prince Meets The Doctor On A Royal 'Who' Visit

The Time Lord met "my lord" when Prince Charles and wife Camilla, aka The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, took a trip to the TARDIS to meet The Doctor.

According to a press release from BBC America, Charles and Camilla visited the show's studios in Cardiff Bay, Wales, to meet with "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, along with showrunner Steven Moffat. Celebrating the show's 50th anniversary year, the Royal Highnesses toured the show's production offices, where they caught an inside glimpse on how The Doctor's adventures are made.

"Showing them how to fly the TARDIS was a real treat and something I never thought I would be doing when I first took on the role," said departing Doctor Matt Smith. "The Prince of Wales said he remembers watching the show when he was 15 and seemed very knowledgeable on the 'Who' history, so it’s nice to think they are watching."

In the first royal visit to the show's Roath Lock studios since it opened last year, the prince and duchess also saw displays from "Doctor Who" costume designer and location manager, among others, and also met with a Dalek.

Coleman said the prince -- who can now also called a Companion -- showed his fanboy side and was "particularly interested" in trying to uncover the storyline for the 50th Anniversary special, airing Nov. 23.

"But I didn’t give too many secrets away," she said.
